Iron Grip
02:09
|
|
||
The iron grip of capital
The stench of extinction
Paleolithic minds
The progress contradiction
Hyperevolved, selective traits
We learn to kill each other
In such fantastic ways
We cannot walk as brothers
This spiritual poverty
This cancerous morality
An empathy deficiency
A deified economy
I feel like Atlas is losing grip
We're plague rats on a sinking ship
We lack a basic outrage at a complex tyranny
We have not changed
We stay the same
Repeating history
The Iron grip of capital
The stench of extinction
Paleolithic minds
The progress contradiction
Avert our eyes
From imperial enterprise
The common condition of culture we call civilized

Disaster Imminent
02:11
|
|
||
A hand picked senate
Our choices are finite
Like the fate of the planet
Running low on our debit
Disaster imminent
Our actions permanent
A failed model in full effect
Waves of history wash us away
Rid this place of our foul reign
Deposit our species from where we came
Solace and peace in our watery graves
An offering to the ignorant
And the slobbering sycophant
The chorus a diaspora
Of meltdown salvationists
Singing our doom
Talented and gracious
An eschatology that excuses
Binging on dirty resources
Our ecocidal abuses
Justified through archaic sources
Your scripture is obsolete
Your prophecy will not be made complete
Entranced by the system's complexity
Ignore alternate possibilities
Waves of history wash us away
Rid this place of our foul reign
Deposit our species from where we came
Solace and peace in our watery graves

Borders
01:19
|
|
||
I won't subscribe to this construct of nationality
This ethnocentric hate fuelled mythology
It won't rule me
And it's so fucking plain to see
Collective indifference
Consent from complacency
Not me
I will not recognize these dividing lines
That restrict our potential
These borders are lies
Unnecessary and contrived
An unwillingness
To challenge or dismiss
The doctrines that drag us down
Conventions that tie our hands as we drown
We're going down
We're fucking doomed
And its so fucking plain to see
Collective indifference
Consent from complacency
Not me

Tranquility
02:25
|
|
||
Sometimes, an inability to speak
I found a peace among the trees
No war, no famine or disease
The sunlight puts a pleasant curse on me
Through needles green
Tranquility
Balance it seems
Sometimes the world just crowds me in
I need a place to call my own
I play the record and begin
To deconstruct the universe alone
Untouched by the poison of progress
I mediate in silent congress
I won't let you in
Sometimes, an inability to speak
I found a peace among the trees
No war, no famine or disease
The sunlight puts a pleasant curse on me
Through needles green
Tranquility
Balance it seems
I breathe cement
Offer myself to the pavement
My payment's permanent
Enthused in my enslavement
These streets swallow me whole
No one to follow, alone I roll

Pressure Chamber
02:00
|
|
||
Been writing the same song for years
This expulsion onto paper can't make my feelings disappear
My anger ingrained only deeper
My angst much stronger than it was
Adulthood answers zero questions
Only exposes greater flaws
I can't breathe in this pressure chamber
Still can't offer sympathy
For choosing paths of least resistance
Eager to appease
So malignant with myth
Such obvious transparencies
That no one actually believes
Internal fetter of our introspective tendencies
My anger ingrained only deeper
My angst much stronger than it was
Adulthood answers zero questions
Only exposes greater flaws
These devices kill time
(fading away)
This compulsion is mine
(repeating each day)
A means to an end
(again and again)
A strike of the pen

Glimmers of Hope
02:11
|
|
||
Our beating hearts
A ticking counterpart
To their corrupted dreams
Their murderous machine
We hold the choice
To not participate
Determine our own voice
And turn away from hate
From loathing and despair
Their blood economy
Commodified humanity
We are a barrier
Determined and aware
Our outrage and our hope
Binds us, reminds us that we never stand alone
United minds
Resistant we intensify the power struggle
Rip kings from their thrones
Connect the dots
They build you up to watch you rot
Resist the pull
To demonize the individual
The power's in our hearts
Its in our minds
See through the lies
We're powerful inside
They built this from the ground
But we can fucking tear it down
We can fucking tear it down
The power's in our hearts
