The iron grip of capital
The stench of extinction
Paleolithic minds
The progress contradiction
Hyperevolved, selective traits
We learn to kill each other
In such fantastic ways
We cannot walk as brothers
This spiritual poverty
This cancerous morality
An empathy deficiency
A deified economy
I feel like Atlas is losing grip
We're plague rats on a sinking ship
We lack a basic outrage at a complex tyranny
We have not changed
We stay the same
Repeating history
The Iron grip of capital
The stench of extinction
Paleolithic minds
The progress contradiction
Avert our eyes
From imperial enterprise
The common condition of culture we call civilized
'Blood Fortune' is everything I was hoping Aanthems first LP would be, and more. It's got a diamond hard edge, but still brims with the warm heartedness both Ryan and Geoff are known for. The very definition of diverse, this album offers something for everyone: hardcore sensibilities, melodic turns, and some of the most singalong-able choruses/gang chants ever. It's been a banner year for Vancouver punk, but this has easily been my most spun record since it's time of release. thewreckedneck
